From March 25 to 27, 2025, the UHD World Association (UWA) made its debut at the Series Mania International TV Festival in Lille, France, participating in the festival’s professional forum. UWA hosted an exhibition booth to showcase and exchange cutting-edge film and television technologies with guests from over 70 countries, while delivering a keynote presentation on the "Discover Vivid--- Enhancing the Audio-Visual Experience Like never before".

This year, UWA was the sole representative from mainland China participating in the event.

Séries Mania: A Global Stage for the Best in Television

Founded in 2010 in Paris and relocated to Lille in northern France since 2018Séries Mania is dedicated to promoting the world’s best TV series. It has rapidly grown into one of the largest and most influential television festivals in the world.

Every March, Séries Mania brings together TV producers, distributors, creators, and industry professionals from across the globe to showcase and discuss the latest TV works and industry trends. The event includes screenings, industry forums, market activities, and workshops—making it a major hub for international collaboration and a key trendsetter in the global TV industry.

In recent years, leading international OTT streaming services—Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Disney+—have started offering 4K Ultra HD content. In 2024, China’s National Radio and Television Administration revised the TV drama master format standards, officially incorporating HDR Vivid and Audio Vivid, two self-developed audiovisual technologies, into the requirements for drama master production. These innovations significantly enhance the visual and audio quality of television content, delivering a more immersive viewing experience for audiences.

At this year’s Séries Mania, UWA’s booth not only featured promotional content for Audio & HDR Vivid, but also showcased technical comparison clips produced using HDR Vivid, including Netflix’s first Swiss series Winter Palace and Canal+’s documentary #Hvaldimir. The stunning visual effects left a strong impression on visiting guests.

Carles Fernández, Director of the South International Series Festival, noted that today’s audiences have increasingly high expectations for TV series—a compelling story alone is no longer enough. Only series that reach cinematic production quality can thrive in the international market.

He emphasized that Spanish producers are actively seeking cutting-edge technologies to elevate the quality of their work, and expressed his intention to promote Audio & HDR Vivid to his peers in Spain as valuable tools for achieving that next level of excellence.
