UWA at NAB Show 2025: Expanding Global Collaboration, Driving Industry Innovation

From April 6 to 9, NAB Show 2025—the world’s premier event for the broadcast, television, and film industries—was grandly held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the United States. Industry-leading enterprises and professionals from around the globe gathered to showcase cutting-edge technologies, exchange innovative ideas, and accelerate the global development of media and entertainment.

This year’s show focused on major industry trends such as artificial intelligence, the creator economy, and the convergence of sports and technology, offering a forward-looking perspective on the future of media. NAB Show 2025 attracted over 55,000 professional attendees from 160 countries, hosted 1,050 global exhibitors—including 125 first-time participants—and spanned 670,000 square feet of exhibition space.

UWA placed great importance on this year’s NAB Show. Deputy General-Secretary Jiao Yang and Paul, Co-Chair of the UWA International Standards Group, attended the event, holding in-depth exchanges with nearly 20 internationally renowned organizations and companies. They also actively participated in various industry activities to explore future trends in media technology.

On April 6, the NAB Show officially kicked off. That morning, Deputy General-Secretary Jiao met with representatives from AVID to engage in technical discussions and share the latest progress of UWA’s Audio Vivid technology ecosystem. The meeting laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two parties.

Paul, Co-Chair of UWA’s International Standards Task Group, was invited to speak at the UHD Seminar titled “Bridging the Gap: Deploying Live Ultra HD Broadcasts Across HDR and SDR Systems.” He joined leading experts to discuss the latest developments in High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) technologies.

On the afternoon of April 6, UWA met with Saleah, CEO of the International Association for Broadcast & Media Technology Suppliers (IABM), and Chris, Head of Technology. During the meeting, UWA provided a comprehensive overview of its development journey, core technical standards, and future roadmap. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential areas of international collaboration, and further clarified cooperation directions in the fields of technical standardization and ecosystem application promotion.

On the evening of April 6, UWA was invited to attend the gala hosted by the Colorist Society International (CSI). The event brought together top colorists and creative professionals from around the world to share the latest advancements in color grading technologies and creative concepts, fostering deeper integration between color artistry and technological innovation.

Following the event, UWA held a face-to-face exchange with the Technical Director of Integrated Solutions at Panasonic Taiwan, discussing industry technology trends and exploring potential areas for future collaboration.

On April 7, UWA engaged in in-depth discussions with alliance members and industry partners including BOSMACanal+UHD Forum, and UHD Alliance at the NAB Show. The conversations focused on content production, technology distribution, and the development trends of UHD technologies, leading to a broad consensus on future directions and collaboration opportunities.

On April 8, UWA held discussions with Informa and Ross Video on video production technologies and solutions. The two sides exchanged insights on industry market trends and strategic planning, providing valuable perspectives to support UWA’s future development.

On the eve of the exhibition, UWA attended NAB Aussie-Kiwi Nite 2025, where it engaged in discussions with leading industry players including TagCatonTelstra Broadcast ServicesPanasonic, and Manga System. UWA introduced its latest developments in technical standards and ecosystem building, while also sharing its vision and roadmap for future international expansion.

In addition, UWA participated in several forums and salon events focused on film technology and sports broadcasting innovations. These sessions covered the full creative pipeline—from content creation to post-production—exploring how technological advancements can enhance both the quality and efficiency of media production. The events fostered valuable knowledge sharing and opened up new opportunities for collaboration across the industry.

At this year’s NAB Show, numerous UWA member companies made a strong impression.
