Recently, at the meeting of Study Group 6 (SG6) of the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), along with its working parties WP6A, WP6B, and WP6C held in Geneva, Switzerland, the UHD World Association announced a major milestone in the global standardization of its HDR Vivid technology.

The HDR Vivid application document has been successfully upgraded from a Working Document (WD) to a Preliminary Draft New Report (PDNR), marking its entry into the critical finalization stage of international standards. This achievement reflects strong recognition from global industry experts and signifies a key step forward for China’s ultra-high-definition (UHD) solutions on the international stage.

As a next-generation high dynamic range imaging technology, HDR Vivid enables richer color expression, enhanced contrast, and more lifelike visual detail, significantly elevating the viewing experience for UHD content across devices and scenarios.

This advancement represents a substantive breakthrough in the international standardization process of HDR Vivid, while further demonstrating growing innovation capabilities and global influence in the UHD sector. It also provides a valuable technical pathway and practical reference for the evolution of global UHD technologies and the development of future international standards.
