UWA SUMMIT’s First International Cooperation Matching Meeting Concludes Successfully

On the afternoon of November 6, the International Cooperation Matching Meeting, a key session of the 2025 UWA SUMMIT & Member Conference, was successfully held in Shenzhen.

Organized by UWA’s International Department, the meeting aimed to strengthen communication and cooperation between Chinese and global members, advancing the Association’s global engagement strategy. Representatives from China Media Group (CMG), the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), and multiple overseas partners participated in the discussion.

Deepening Dialogue and Technical Exchange

At the opening, Peter Xu, Director of International Collaboration at UWA, presented a detailed overview of the UWA’s recent achievements and global initiatives.

Ms. Philomenna Gnanapragasam, CEO of AIBD, then shared the organization’s mission and history. Founded under the support of the Government of Malaysia, UNDP, UNESCO, and the ITU, AIBD now counts 93 member organizations from 44 countries, and its annual Asia Media Summit (AMS) has become one of the most influential media exchange platforms in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the technical exchange session,

    • Mr. K.C. Rabi, AIBD Technical Advisor, analyzed the current state of broadcasting technology development across ASEAN countries.

    • Mr. Lin Fei, from CMG’s Technology Production Department, introduced the broadcaster’s UHD innovation achievements and progress on NVI technology applications.

    • Mr. Satriyo Dharmanto, Chief Engineer of TVRI Indonesia, shared insights into Indonesia’s national broadcasting evolution.

    • Industry representatives from Singapore’s Elevate Broadcast and SipRadius Technology, as well as Inshort Korea, also presented their solutions in broadcast system integration, media transmission, and AI-powered video processing.

On the domestic side, UWA members including BOSMA, Malanshan AV Lab, Beijing 7D Vision Tech, Beijing Shineon, BOE, Konvision, Tusheng UHD Innovation Center and 4K Garden showcased China’s comprehensive UHD capabilities — covering signal capture, processing, display, and system integration — along with an impressive portfolio of UHD content innovations.

A Fruitful First Step Toward Regional Cooperation

The Meeting welcomed over 30 delegates from more than 10 countries, fostering in-depth discussions and active networking that deepened mutual understanding and laid the foundation for future collaboration.

After the formal session, participants continued lively exchanges, sharing contacts and exploring partnership opportunities to initiate concrete follow-up projects.

This event marked UWA’s first international cooperation meeting following its participation in several overseas exhibitions — with a particular focus on Asia-Pacific and Belt & Road cooperation.

It served as a vivid demonstration of UWA’s bridge-building role in connecting global UHD stakeholders, and as a meaningful step toward the internationalization of UWA’s standards and member collaboration.

UWA looks forward to expanding participation in the next edition and turning dialogue into real-world projects and driving global UHD innovation forward.
