UWA Hosts “Immersive Vivid Vision, Envision the Future” International Exchange Event During the 31st Shanghai TV Festival

On June 22, 2026, during the 31st Shanghai TV Festival, the UHD World Association (UWA) hosted the “Immersive Vivid, Envision the Future” International Exchange Event at UHD Audio & Visual Jing’an · π Space in Jing’an, Shanghai.
Centered on UHD audiovisual technology experiences, international industry dialogue, and the premiere of premium content, the event brought together domestic and international guests from film and television production, content distribution, media platforms, technology R&D, and cultural tourism communication. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the development opportunities of next-generation immersive audiovisual technologies, including HDR Vivid and Audio Vivid, in content creation, industrial implementation, and international ecosystem collaboration.

More than 30 guests from nearly 20 enterprises attended the event, representing 10 countries including China, Russia, Brazil, Cambodia, Mongolia, France, the Philippines, Georgia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The participants included CEOs, presidents, producers, distribution executives, platform content leaders, international cooperation representatives, and government cultural tourism officials. Together, they exchanged views on UHD audiovisual technologies, international content cooperation, documentary distribution, cultural tourism storytelling, and the application of the Vivid ecosystem.
UWA Chairman and Member of the Editorial Board of China Media Group, Jiang Wenbo, delivered the welcome remarks. He noted that UHD audiovisual technologies are profoundly reshaping the form of global media content and the structure of the industry ecosystem. UWA has always upheld the principles of openness, collaboration, innovation, and shared success, and has continued to promote the development of UHD standards and industrial applications represented by Vivid technologies. In recent years, UWA has actively expanded its international network, appearing at major global industry platforms including IBC, BroadcastAsia, APOS, Series Mania, the Cannes Film Festival, and IFA Berlin. Through multi-level exchanges with global media organizations, technology companies, content platforms, and industry bodies, UWA has continued to promote deeper mutual learning and integration between China’s UHD technologies and the global industry ecosystem.

The event was held at UHD Audio & Visual Jing’an · π Space, an innovation space developed by Shanghai Daning Assets Management Group, a state-owned enterprise affiliated with Jing’an District and the urban service operator of the Daning functional area. With a total floor area of approximately 7,400 square meters, the space is positioned as an international innovation hub focused on UHD, AI, and next-generation audio-visual content creation. It integrates technology showcase, interactive experience, industry cooperation, and content incubation. At the beginning of the event, guests watched the π Space promotional video and, guided by Wang Yue, representative of π Space, gained an in-depth understanding of its systematic layout in UHD audio-visual industry display, AI metaverse experiences, digital content incubation, and industry ecosystem aggregation.

Guests then visited the UWA Shanghai Ecosystem Cooperation Center, where they experienced HDR Vivid, Audio Vivid, and their diverse application scenarios in an immersive setting. Jointly developed by UWA and Daning Group, the center serves as an important platform for promoting China-developed UHD audio-visual technologies and the Vivid ecosystem. It integrates technology R&D, scenario verification, standard development, and ecosystem aggregation. Covering approximately 300 square meters, the immersive experience space includes a large-space audio-visual experience area, a home entertainment environment, an automotive UHD technology showcase area, and a digital wellness zone. Together, these areas establish a full-chain technical verification system from content production to hardware tuning, forming a closed-loop ecosystem of “technology R&D — scenario testing — industrial transformation.”

In the home entertainment experience area, UWA ecosystem expert Jichuan provided a detailed introduction to the application of HDR Vivid and Audio Vivid in home entertainment scenarios, demonstrating how UHD image quality, richer color gradation, and immersive spatial audio can significantly elevate the home audiovisual experience. In the automotive UHD technology showcase area, guests experienced the innovative application of Vivid technologies in smart cockpits through a real-vehicle model and in-car audiovisual system, covering in-car entertainment, spatial audio, and immersive entertainment experiences. Jason Ling, Director of Automotive Ecosystem at UWA, noted that the showcase area is designed not only for end-user experience, but also with R&D tuning and standard testing capabilities, providing important technical support for in-car audiovisual system development and standard verification.

In connection with the home entertainment scenario, guests also experienced a breakthrough UHD technology: 3D viewing. Through AI technology, traditional 2D content can be converted into 3D in real time, delivering an on-site 3D viewing experience. Guests agreed that the maturity of this technology will further promote the application of in-car 3D experiences, drive UHD content consumption through a low-cost and high-supply innovation model, and support the upgrading of industry quality.

During the industry sharing and content release session, Kevin Guo, UWA Senior Director of Ecosystem Development, gave a systematic presentation on the global Vivid ecosystem, industrial applications, and cinema ecosystem development. He noted that Vivid technologies have evolved from individual technical standards into a multi-scenario integrated application system, covering key areas such as content production, terminal display, home entertainment, automotive cockpits, cinema projection, and international communication. As collaboration across the upstream and downstream industry chain continues to deepen, HDR Vivid and Audio Vivid are increasingly becoming key technological links connecting content, devices, scenarios, and user experiences.

The international premium content showcase was one of the highlights of the event. Olivier Chiabodo, UWA European Vice President and Founder & CEO of The Explorers, shared the organization’s cooperation with UWA in the field of UHD nature and cultural tourism documentaries. He highlighted their joint creative practices around projects such as Amazing China, presenting the unique beauty of China’s nature, culture, and technology to global audiences through ultra-high-definition imagery.

A major highlight of the event was the premiere of the Brazil-themed cultural tourism documentary trailer Connecting Mountains and Seas with Light and Shadow. Set against the backdrop of the 2026 China-Brazil Cultural Year, the film uses documentary imagery as a bridge to connect China and Brazil, vividly presenting the vitality of the two countries’ natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and cultural exchanges. Empowered by both HDR Vivid and Audio Vivid, the film achieves a significant enhancement in image depth, color performance, and spatial audio, offering a more immersive and emotionally engaging expression model for cultural tourism content and international communication.

The event served not only as a showcase of cutting-edge UHD audiovisual technologies, but also as a deep dialogue with the international content ecosystem. During the networking session, content institutions, media platforms, and industry partners from different countries and regions engaged in practical discussions around content co-creation, technology application, cultural tourism communication, film and television distribution, and ecosystem building. Participants shared their business directions and cooperation needs in areas such as film and television production, documentary distribution, OTT platforms, cultural tourism video content, and international collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future cross-regional and cross-sector innovation.
As a standards and industry organization with significant international influence, UWA has remained committed to promoting the development of UHD audio-visual technologies from standard formulation to industrial application, and from Chinese practice to global collaboration. Looking ahead, UWA will continue to take the Vivid technology ecosystem as its core, working with global content institutions, technology companies, terminal manufacturers, platform partners, and industry organizations to promote the large-scale implementation of UHD audio-visual technologies across film and television, cultural tourism, automotive, home entertainment, cinema, and other scenarios. Together, these efforts will help the global audio-visual industry move toward a new stage of higher quality, stronger immersion, and broader connectivity.
