As the FIFA Club World Cup 2026 captivates audiences worldwide, China Mobile Migu, the tournament's official rights holder in China, continues to elevate the viewing experience with HDR Vivid technology. Together with the UHD World Association (UWA), Migu is advancing the UHD video ecosystem and delivering more immersive sports broadcasts while continuing to drive the adoption of HDR standards.

  1. Continuous Technology Evolution: HDR Vivid Debuts at the FIFA Club World Cup

Since first applying HDR Vivid to the live broadcast of major international sporting events in the UEFA Euro 2020, China Mobile Migu, as one of UWA's core members, has successively delivered HDR Vivid coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The FIFA Club World Cup 2026 marks another major milestone, with HDR Vivid production and broadcasting solutions now fully matured.

This year’ s tournament is being held across 16 distinctive stadiums in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, where widely varying indoor and outdoor environments, as well as changing weather and lighting conditions, present significant challenges for UHD production. Leveraging dynamic metadata, scene-by-scene optimization, and intelligent image processing, HDR Vivid enables significant enhancements to color reproduction, contrast, and image detail. From stadium lighting and pitch textures to players' expressions, grass, and crowd reactions, every detail is preserved, providing viewers with a highly immersive experience.

Building on years of technological innovation, China Mobile Migu has continuously optimized its HDR Vivid production workflow. From the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the UEFA European Championship, and now the FIFA Club World Cup 2026, HDR Vivid has progressed to provide strong technical support for the broadcast of major international sporting events.

  1. Cross-Industry Collaboration: UWA Builds an Open HDR Vivid Ecosystem

HDR Vivid has achieved large-scale application in international football broadcasts through collaborative effort across the UWA ecosystem.

To date, HDR Vivid has built a mature ecosystem, with 153 UWA member organizations spanning the entire value chain, from content production and tools to platforms, codecs, chipsets, and devices. More than 100 chipsets from over 10 companies natively support HDR Vivid, while over 40 companies have certified 415 products across seven categories, covering 1,369 device models and establishing a complete commercial ecosystem. Driven by the rollout of UHD channels and operator set-top box procurement, the HDR Vivid standard has been adopted by 4K UHD channels in Shenzhen, Hunan, and Shanghai, and made a mandatory requirement for operators' set-top boxes. Leading OTT platforms, including Migu Video, have also adopted HDR Vivid, while major international football tournaments have become benchmark scenarios for standards implementation and validation.

  1. Industry Value: HDR Vivid Redefines the Quality Standard for Sports Broadcasting

China Mobile Migu is the world's only video platform to have commercially deployed end-to-end HDR Vivid at scale across multiple editions of premier international football tournaments. Its deployments at the Winter Olympics, the Olympic Games, multiple FIFA World Cups, the UEFA European Championship, and the FIFA Club World Cup have established HDR Vivid as a new benchmark for UHD sports broadcasting.

Compared with conventional static HDR, HDR Vivid uses intelligent multi-stage tone mapping to optimize shadows, mid-tones, and highlights, preserving richer contrast and finer detail in fast-moving sports while ensuring consistent image quality across devices through dynamic metadata.

From the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2026, China Mobile Migu has continuously refined HDR Vivid through the world's premier sporting events. This independently developed dynamic HDR solution delivers immersive viewing experiences while showcasing the strength of China's UHD standards and industry ecosystem.

Viewing Tip: The FIFA World Cup 2026 Finals is about to kick off, watch it live on Migu Video and switch to "Premium UHD - 4K HDR Vivid" for immersive 4K HDR viewing with dynamic lighting and a billion-color wide color gamut.
