The Explorers Cooperated with UWA to Build a Bridge Between China and France with UHD Standards
The UHD World Association (UWA) signed a MOU with The Explorers Network Sas, a French member company of UWA.
On April 7, 2023, the UHD World Association (UWA) signed a MOU with The Explorers Network Sas, a French member company of UWA. The two sides reached a consensus that The Explorers would authorize 16 documentaries shot with 8K to UWA, and these documentaries would be broadcast on Chinese TV channels, Internet TV platforms, IPTV platforms and terminal devices. Mr. Olivier Chiabodo, CEO of The Explorers, as one of the 60 corporate executives in the French President's visit to China, presented these 16 documentaries to China as a national gift of France, which greatly promoted the cultural and technological exchanges between China and France.
According to the disclosure of the MOU signed by both parties, UWA authorizes The Explorers to use HDR Vivid for color grading of UHD video content, and uses Audio Vivid to enhance the sense of space, distance and orientation of sound, to create a more immersive audio and visual experience. Under the witness of Jiang Wenbo, the Chairman of UWA, a member of the Editorial Conference of China Media Group, representatives of UWA members, and media reporters, Zhang Wengang, the Secretary General of UWA, signed the MOU with Mr. Olivier Chiabodo, the CEO of The Explorers. Later, both of them also received interviews from media reporters.
Jiang Wenbo indicated that some documentaries provided by The Explorers have been produced with 8K+HDR Vivid, which is also the first overseas application of UWA standards, and this is a good beginning. UWA will actively support The Explorers to adopt HDR Vivid, Audio Vivid, XR virtual reality integration UHD production and other UWA technical standards to carry out UHD program production and dissemination. This exchange and cooperation will greatly promote the cultural exchanges between China and France, especially on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France next year, which will enable the Chinese and French people to better understand each other's culture and make contributions to the enhancement of friendship between the two countries and people.
